EARLY DISCO 

Original Music Disco – is a not a separate genre, and a combination of a variety of dance genres: funk, soul, rock, latin. It is impossible to uniquely characterize any one style or tempo of the music, which sounded in the early days of disco. Originating in the United States, disco spread very quickly throughout the world. In the late ’70s to the disco up to 40% of singles fell into charts and disco industry was estimated at four billion dollars (that is, more than a movie, television or professional sports)

In the mid-’70s pop music audience was divided into two opposing camps. One part fell under the influence of punk and the other decided to spend more time esthetic and opted for a disco. At first, it was mostly American “golden youth”, which are visited nightlife, where dance music was played exclusively.

Year of birth is considered Disco 1974 venue – New York’s gay clubs. Then drive to “legalize” penetrating radio and other “decent place.” Explicit sexual coloring, deliberately emphasized by a seductive image of artists and performers, bright shiny costumes and elements of a transvestite (affected by the traditions of glam) gave disco unique appeal.

 

Disco created an atmosphere of celebration, “eternal summer”, love, illusory liberty, forgotten problems of everyday life, overlapping only one desire – to dance.

Disco has its roots in the Negro funk and soul, so-called vocal-bands 60 and California surf rock. The main distinguishing feature of the disc as a musical-stylistic phenomenon – even chetyrehdolny rhythm with an emphasis on each of the shares (often underlined kick drum). “Classic” is recognized as the pace at 120 beats per minute (which is almost twice the normal human heart rate). Among the black American groups, to contribute to the disco music, one can distinguish, primarily, “Soul City Orchestra”, released their famous disc “The Hustle” before Donna Summer.

We can not select a group of “Cool and the Gang”, has preserved as much as possible signs of funk to disco music and “Trammprs” which is an example of a disk with a large inclusion of Latin music – “Latino disco.

The first wave of new enthusiasm made a career and a number of white American groups, such as “KC & Sunshine Band”. Many recognized authorities of black soul, funk and jazz did tilt towards the disco: James Brown, Wilson Pickett, John Taylor recorded a record in line with fashion trends. Although released white rock fans assertion that disco fever – a Negro-homosexual infection, a lot of famous white rock and pop artists began to produce their records, in varying degrees, relevant to the disco music.
